The Romanian Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics - ROMAI - is a scientific organization. It has no political or lucrative purposes.
The ROMAI society was founded in 1992, at the initiative of Professor Adelina Georgescu (1942-2010), by a decision of the Court of Law of the Sixth District of Bucharest.
The ROMAI mainly purposes are:
- To develope and to promote Mathematics and its applications in other sciences and industry
- To coordinate and to support the scientific activity of its members.
- To protect the interests of its members in relation with state institutions or other parties.
In the present time the ROMAI society includes about 120 full members almost all of them from Romania and Republic of Moldavia.
The current activity of the society is rulled by a board: a president, four vice-presidents, one secretary and one treasurer.

The ROMAI society publishes an open acces mathemaical journal, ROMAI Journal.
The journal contains articles focused on new results in the area of applied mathematics and pure mathematics of interest in social and natural sciences. The fields of applications include:
Since 1992 the ROMAI society organizes, in partenership with universties and research institutes, an annual conference on applied and industrial mathematics - CAIM series.
CAIM offers to the participants the opportunity to present their latest research or to discuss new trends in Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Education and other related fields.

Premiul pentru matematici aplicate ADELINA GEORGESCU
Premiul este destinat promovarii realizarilor deosebite din domeniul matematicii, in special al celei aplicate, obtinute de tineri matematicieni din Romania si Republica Moldova, in spiritul continuarii impulsurilor date de-a lungul intregii sale activitati de catre fondatoarea ROMAI, Adelina Georgescu (1942-2010).
Premiul, oferit de familia Adelinei Georgescu si ROMAI, se acorda anual, prin concurs.
